Playing on the Green is an hour of activities to get children outdoors and playing on their street. These sessions will run from 3-30 - 4-30pm every Tuesday at Northfield and every Thursday at Francis Avenue until the October half-term.
Learning Disability Social Group
Over 18's only from 7.00 - 9.00 pm at The Hut in Withernsea
The social club for Over 18's was launched during Learning Disability Week in June and the last session of the pilot programme ended with a meal for everyone at The Alexander.
The group has given people living with learning difficulties a place to go and socialise and take part in activities chosen by the group itself. The club have played dominos, completed jigsaws, played games of boccia and pool. It's a very relaxed group with no pressure to join in and there are often a few activities running at the same time.
This gives everyone the opportunity to spend time with a variety of people. Snack time halfway through the session brings everyone together to chat.
The Social Group has been very popular and is working towards becoming self-sustainable. It will now take place every Tuesday evening from 7 - 9pm at the Hut for a small charge beginning from Sept 17th. Active Withernsea will be supporting these sessions while building up a bank of volunteers to take over the running of the Group.
We would like anyone who could help in this regard to contact us.
