Humber Sports Partnership Ltd have launched Athena Aspire Ltd to support young people into work. The launch follows substantial success over the past couple of years working with Humber Learning Consortium to use the values and disciplines of sport to build confidence and aspirations in young people.
Gary Hood Chief Executive of Athena Aspire said " This is an exciting development, Athena Aspire will expand the Courses for All programme and deliver specialist mentoring in partnership with a number of organisations to help young people open up long term opportunities for themselves. The Humber is a rapidly emerging economic area and we want to play our part in its future success".
Gary Sainty Deputy Chief Executive of Humber Sports Partnership Ltd said "From Monday 2nd October, Humber Sports Partnership Ltd trading as Active Humber will focus fully on our work increasing the levels of physical activity across the Humber and working collaboratively with partners we will ensure that we maximise the resources in the area and the positive impact of being physically active. Active Humber will work closely with Sport England to deliver the strategy Towards an Active Nation locally and will be under new leadership with David Gent starting as the Chief Executive Officer for Active Humber."
These are really exciting times for both organisations and we hope that partners and customers work with us both through this transitional period. To contact Active Humber please call 01482 244344 and to contact Athena Aspire please call 01482 770122.
