Coaching of young people, attend high 5 workshops and some develop to UKCC qualifications, umpiring and if they want to progress they can become qualified (from trainee), team managers (high 5 rotations (subs), first aid, refreshments. At tournaments they all get involved from refreshments to scoring, organise events. And of course, ensuring kids there on time. Do registers

How do you get parents involved?
Club registration form ask if they have any skills that would benefit club. You can't believe what we find! Cake makers to photographers and accountants!

What difference do parent volunteers make to your club?
Takes the pressure of the coaches and committee, spreads the workload, add value to tournaments and club training sessions, adds to a positive environment makes the parents more confident to take on other roles.

What messages would you most like to get across to the parents of your members?
We could not run a successful club without parents volunteering. We are like a family, gives parents sense of belonging – some parents have continued with the club after their children have left, hobby.

Is there anything else that you would like to say?
We would recommend that all clubs ask parents to get involved – not everyone has the confidence to come forward but once asked they love it!
