On 24th April 2018 Active Humber received confirmation that we have achieved compliance with the Code for Sports Governance.
The Code of Sports Governance is implemented by Sport England and UK Sport in order to protect the value for money the public receives from investment into sport, and maximise the effectiveness of those investments. The Government called for the 'gold standard' in domestic governance standards, and tasked UK Sport and Sport England with agreeing a new Code.
With this in mind we are very proud to have achieved this status, and it has been the culmination of work across the business over the last 6-9 months while the company has been going through a significant period of change.
Chief Executive David Gent commented, 'I am delighted that we have achieved the Code of Sports Governance. It is vital that we gained the standard, and fantastic reassurance that we have all the key building blocks in place to operate the business to a high standard, as acknowledged by Sport England and UK Sport.'
The code sets out all the requirements across 5 principles of Structure, People, Communication, Standards & Conduct and Policies & Procedures.
