Active Humber awarded funding through to 2021

Fantastic news confirmed by Sport England.

Sport England initially gave Active Humber an interim one year funding award for 2018/19, and placed the CSP into 'recovery' along with a number of other CSPs. The desired three year funding agreement 2018/2021 as most CSPs have was subject to resolving a number of issues by no later than the 31st March 2019. Active Humber has since January of this year been working to resolve those issues.

The Sport England Investment committee met on the 6th September to consider the Active Humber funding for the last two years of the current funding cycle, and Active Humber is delighted that the Investment Committee approved the funding for the period up to the 31st March 2021 without any special conditions, other than the normal grant-in-aid conditions. This means Active Humber is 'out of recovery' and has certainty of funding.

A number of senior Local Authority partners and the Active Humber board met with Mike Diaper, Executive Director, Sport England in March to discuss how the CSP is evolving and that gave Mike lots of confidence that the CSP was rapidly turning itself around. Combined with the evidence we were able to supply of our developing relationship with each of our partners, this has very much helped to allow Sport England to make this decision.

The Active Humber board and operational team all wish to express their thanks for all partners support at this time, when all partners have lots to do 'back at the ranch'. Our Board and operational team will now continue to work with you to make Active Humber an exemplar CSP and be the best we can at supporting you to get more people physically active.

Thank you.
