National Governing Bodies
Through the services listed below we will work with NGBs to support you to deliver your Whole Sport Plans locally. Contributing to getting 15,000 more people participating in sport and active recreation at least 1 x 30 minutes per week by 2018. Active Humber will target our NGB work to those that have a clear plan and targets for the Humber and to those where there is a demand for their sport locally.
Delivery of Sport England programmes to support NGBs to deliver upon their whole sport plans. Investment is made through our programmes such as Sportivate and Satellite Clubs, this work is planned with partners and NGBs to ensure maximum impact. Active Humber prioritise programmes working with 19-25 year olds, disabled people and females, and aim to get inactive people active.
Linking NGBs to strategic partners including local authorities, education (primary, secondary, FE and HE), non-sports organisations and others through events, forums and brokering meetings between parties.
We provide information about local demographics, participation rates, health and crime statistics, market segmentation and current provision to support NGB planning. Our team are aware of the challenges and opportunities that working in the Humber will bring and through discussions can support you plan your activities. Active Humber understand, interpret and can use the insight provided by external organisations such as Sport England.
Delivering a comprehensive coach education programme of generic workshops and bespoke courses. Supporting around 5,000 coaches via our database providing tailored guidance and networking opportunities such as an annual conference. Support provided to NGBs to ensure a suitable workforce is developed and in place to deliver upon the demand for activity.
Promoting NGB activity, news and products across the Humber, through our own website and social media channels and via our local media contacts. Active Humber have regular e-bulletins circulated to over 4,000 recipients.
Supporting clubs through the Humber Club Network, to develop fit for purpose and safe club environments, providing support and advice on specific topics such as safeguarding and funding. Active Humber will work with Club Matters to help clubs to become more efficient and effective by developing their governance.
We aim to work with NGBs effectively and support you to achieve your strategic priorities locally or support you with a specific task.
